Finances
Currently we are £49 overdrawn. We should be receiving $80 from Google. The accounts may be zeroed at the start of the next university year. There is still the finance application to complete.
Boats in the Private Sheds
Work has started on improving the layout of the private sheds. Already, a lot of notice has been given to unclaimed boats (30/03/2006). If you do have a boat in the private sheds and have not already claimed it or are not a fully paid up member, you have until the 15th of June before the club takes action to remove the boat. Please look on www.lucc.info for information regarding how to claim your boats. A list of boats still unclaimed will be appearing shortly on the website. The fiberglass rotabat-looking boats, believed to be the clubs, will be traded for materials for the shed rebuilds. Matt has taken responsibility for the removal of unclaimed boats.
Equipment
It has been agreed that kit will now become numbered to help keep track of kit and for signing out purposes. It may not be possible to number decks, but the equipment officers, Rosie and Cath, have agreed to look into this.
There is a recognised need in the club for the purchase of larger helmets, although it appears that these are likely to be incompatible with faceguards. Future helmets requiring face guards that need to be bought will probably White Water helmets as cracking has appeared in other brand helmets that have required face guards.
AU Minibuses
Buses from TKS will now be available from the AU until December 2006. In order to gain a minibus permit from the Guild a member must be 21 years or older and have held a license for a minimum of two years. Vanny has arranged with Stuart Wade for licensing of those wishing to drive the minibus with trailer, Cath and Rosie have expressed interest however they need to fund there own medical in order to get a learner permit.
Polo
Andy has looked into the club entering Merseyside International on 24-25 June. Unfortunately, many people are away with our club in the Alps. As only 4 people expressed an interest, it was decided that we could not compete. It has also been noted that, generally, it has been harder to get teams together for the polo matches.
Pool Sessions
The possibility of extra pool sessions will be discussed at the next AU meeting. The club may end up with one hour extra session in the pool on Fridays.
There has also been discrepancy in the pool closing time. Staff have been asking us to finish at 21.30, while the pool contract is until 22.00 and advertised as 22.30. This matter is being looked into. Also, club members have complained about staff cleaning the changing rooms while people are still getting changed, which is possibly a health and safety risk.
Freshers’ Fair
2006’s Freshers’ Fair will take place on September 23-24 (note this is over the Saturday and the Sunday, not the Sunday and Monday). Rosie and Laura M have agreed to run our stand. It should include the big board, and a video of a recent club trip. We may be able to get permission to use the pool for demonstrations during the Fair.
