Feb 14th we heard an excellent talk by renowned whitewater expeditioner Allan Ellard. He gave us insight into how a trip is planned, and the elements which make each particular journey unique, including the use of google-earth, the mad walk-ins, the right things to take, the fear when things don’t go to plan, the extreme and varied river characteristics, the importance of a skilled and committed team and the warmth and kindness of local people in far flung regions of the Himalayas. Thanks Allan!
