Hi, this page explains how you can add your photos to the NextGen Album, so that they will appear in a gallery on the website.

If you just want to add a few of your photos to your forum post, or your report post, or a page, you can do that using the add media buttons, without having to make an album in NextGen if you don’t want to.

Here are the steps for adding a NextGen gallery of photos:

Step one: Go to your admin area and go to the Gallery tab. If you don’t have enough persmissions yet, you won’t have a Gallery tab, so email me at webadmin@lucanoe.info and ask for more permissions.

Step two: Use the Add Gallery tab to make a new gallery - give it a name. Names like “2008 Tyne Tour” are good. Pick a name which is different to the other galleries, and descriptive of your photos, maybe with your name in the title too.

Step three: Use the Upload Images tab to upload your pictures into the gallery - you will need to select the gallery that you just made, from the drop down box, and upload the pictures into it.

Step four (Optional): In the Manage Galleries tab, edit your gallery - you can change the description of any of your photos. You can expand the Gallery Settings area so that you can add a description of the gallery, and drop down to choose which photo should be used as a preview image for your gallery. You don’t need to change any of the other settings.

Step five: In the Album tab, that shows which galleries will be displayed in our LUCC album. Select “LUCC Photos” in the select album area. Now DRAG AND DROP your new gallery from the right panel into the album on the left, and press Update.

Step six: Go to the Album page - you should now be able to see your new pictures.
