Thought I'd set up another forum chat about the Slalom itself.
If you want to know anything in particular, ask here cos you probably aren't the only one!

Yup, we are camping I'm afraid!! But the campsite is right by the course as is the party so it means no abstaining is required for the drivers!!
Also means that if it happens to be cancelled we get the money back……
So MANY WARM CLOTHES REQUIRED!!
And about 5 sleeping bags!

Everyone -
Seens as they have failed to organise a party this year, we are stuck with a dance destination!
Just had an email from CLaire at Birmingham uni, and that lot are going to grab a cab and go for a big night out in Nottingham! they have invited us to do the same (and spread the word) I'm WELL up for that - its supposed to be a pretty good night out, and im sure with loads of paddlers it will be.
We can pre- drink at the campsite etc, and then go party it up in town
What do people think?

Hi does anyone have a space in their tent for me?? I have a 2 person Quechua pop up tent but they're not very reliable if it rains and I'd quite like someone to share with to keep a bit warmer!
Also, I'm quite worried about getting sick after paddling at HPP as seems to happen to everyone that paddles there for the first time- has anyone got any tips for avoiding it or is it just something you have to go through?

Emily, I've hopefully got lots of tent space! so no worries there. Also going to get some info on how many tents there will be coming so will be able to distribute eveyone in the warmest possible combinations!
To prevent sickness there are various methods, of varying success:
- drink lots of coke before and after paddling
- drink lots of vodka before and after paddling
- eat lots of probiotic yogurt for the next few days to top up gut bacteria!
- it has actually been proven in a few journal papers and prebiotics can help prevent travellers diarrhoea….
- try not to swallow the water!

I have a big tent and don't enjoy being cold… Therefore:
Well built, attractive male, seeking large chested lady for one night only, where warmth and frolicking will be enjoyed by all.
Could the many massive amounts of application be forwarded to Mary for interview…

This valentines theme sucks - any chance of us doing hawain? (read putting board shorts and flowers on top of VERY warm clothes)

Another tactic to stop getting “Trent Trotts” is to eat lettuce.
A couple of members of the surf club prooved that drinking a shot of Rum after every surf session stopped a similar problem.

I'm looking forward to this interviewing….. no applicants as yet Finn, sorry!
Lloyd just make sure the board shorts are red and wear a red top and you'll be there with no great deviation from your Hawaiian theme!

What a weekend!
Massive Thanks to James and Mary for organising it. ALso to Sophie and Mary for doing all the driving and for lloyd staying with Yarwood when the van broke down.
Official photos are online here: http://www.stillsport.com/2010…..noeslalom/
FInn and Squirel also took photos which I look forward to seeing.
Results are not up online yet.
Van was emptied at 8am this morning into sheds. Go collect your stuff those were not there to unload.
Emily - your watch is on the light in public sheds.

Hey peeps,
Lost my tent this weekend in the 'broken-van-carnage-minibus-drop-off' exercise… Anyone end up with a tent that isn't theirs, possibly with skid marks on it???
Also the photos which Lloyd took, quite possibly due to his machine gun technique, more possibly due to my poor camera setup ended up very out of focus… the relatively small amount of photos I took will be utilized to their full advantage on my website http://www.mainstonemedia.com this will be after I have done some skiing photos to bulk up a larger sports section (next week, sorry for delay).
See you at the pancake madness at 133…
Keep dancing!!!
Finn
p.s. Thank yous to: Mary, James, Sophie, Lloyd & especially Ian for doing such an awesome job on our team run, no jokes, Legend!!!
p.p.s Polo bucs in less than 2 weeks… teams tba??? New forum topic???
