Blurb about Simon Willis:

Simon Willis is a journalist, who worked for BBC Look North (North East and Cumbria) from 1983 until 1999 as a reporter and presenter before moving to BBC Scotland as a reporter and presenter on Newsnight Scotland until 2009. He is a regular contributor to The Great Outdoors Magazine. In 2006 Simon began Podcasting interviews with Sea Kayakers about expeditions, favourite routes and issues of interest at SeaKayakPodcasts.com. Simon now runs Sunart Media, a video productions company based in Sunart on the Ardnamurchan peninsular in the Scottish Highlands.

Blurb about the talks:

Part 1: Simon Presents The Scottish Sea Kayak Trail. His story of developing, photographing and videoing a 300 mile route up Scotland’s west coast. From the Isle of Gigha off the Kintyre peninsular, to the Summer Isles near Ullapool. With broadcast quality video and photographs, guidebook author Simon Willis steers us along the trail, exploring its history and wildlife, and the environmental impact sea kayakers make on this stunning coastline.

Part 2: Sea Kayak with Gordon Brown is a coaching DVD like no other. Eight coaching sessions with one of the UK’s top instructors lie at the heart of the production. Beginners and intermediates develop firm foundations, then progress through forward paddling, into turning, steering, tidal race paddling and eventually rock hopping in the roughest conditions.

The coaching is mixed with the story of a four-day voyage by a group of kayakers along the exposed west coast of the Isle of Skye. Under magnificent Cuillin mountain views they explore caves, sea stacks and five thousand year old settlements.
